Mars Area School District’s elementary schools (K-6) received the American Heart Association Heart of Gold Award for raising $44,045.56 as part of the schools’ 2020-2021 Kids/American Heart Challenges.
Mars Area Elementary School collected $20,976.79; Mars Area Primary Center, $17,056.64; and Mars Area Centennial School brought in $6,012.13.
“This award reflects your school community’s passion for and generosity during this past year’s American Heart Challenge event,” says Emma Eisert-Wlodarczyk, American Heart Association youth market director.
“You reached many families by sharing health and wellness resources, had your students take heart healthy challenges, and encouraged students to participate in so many fun activities!”
The school community is ranked 4th among all Kids/American Heart Challenge events in Butler County and 79th in the state. Mars Area Centennial School has also earned a spot among Northwestern Pennsylvania’s Top 25 Schools.
