Welcome to another fun filled school year! I am excited to be the school counselor for the Primary Center.
School Counselors support students in a variety of ways, both face to face and more “behind the scenes.” Behind the scenes we collaborate with and provide consultation to parents, school faculty and administrators, community providers, local agencies, etc. to help our students get what they need. We also coordinate school wide programs and events like Red Ribbon Week and Children’s Grief Awareness Day.
In our face to face work with students we provide classroom lessons on a variety of topics, small group counseling (topics based upon need, but common topics include friendship skills, social skills, girls leadership, etc.), and individual counseling. Please note, individual counseling is brief, and short term. This is not therapy. If you feel your child needs therapy I would be happy to help you find a provider that meets your needs. Children can be referred for school counseling by a parent, teacher, administrator, school staff member, school counselor, or by the students themselves!

I created a Virtual Calming Room for students (and information for parents too!). It has lots of coping tools broken down by category and can be used at home too! You can access that here:

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with concerns about your child – socially, emotionally, or academically.
Thank you! I look forward to meeting you and working with your children!
