Mars Area School District Grades K-6 parents/guardians, who are interested in serving as Field Trip Chaperones, must be approved Independent Volunteers.
In accordance with District Policy 916 Volunteers, to apply to be an Independent Volunteer, individuals must:
- Complete a District Volunteer Application(available online at marsk12.org)
- Obtain the following clearances:
- PA Child Abuse History Check (Act 151) — compass.state.pa.us/cwis
- PA Criminal History Check (Act 34)— https://epatch.state.pa.us
- FBI Federal Criminal History Check (Act 114)— https://uenroll.identogo.co
- Be approved by Mars Area School Board. (Note: Upon Board approval, Independent Volunteers will be placed on an “Approved Independent Volunteers List” that will be provided to the Building Principal.)
Parents/guardians interested in serving as a Field Trip Chaperone, must be Board approved as an Independent Volunteer by no later than Friday, Dec. 1.
