Youth Wrestlers Earn Bids for State Championships

Several members of Mars Youth Wrestling Club qualified to compete in the 2023 Keystone State Championships, to be held March 17-19 in Indiana Pa.

Team members, who earned their state bids at the 2023 Keystone State Northwest Qualifier (Feb. 25), include seventh-grader Sam Passarelli (100 pounds), earned second place; fifth-grader Zane Argeras (95), third place; sixth-grader Ty Carson (75), third place; sixth-grader Jayden Cyphers (95), fourth place; sixth-grader Ben Goehring (80), fourth place; sixth-grader Lane Wilbert (160), fourth place; and sixth-grader Parker Joseph (85), fifth place, in their respective weight classes in the 12U Division. 

In the 10U Division, fifth-grader Grayson Joseph (85), took third place; fifth-grader Adrian Heinemann (75), sixth place; and fourth-grader Alex Carson (60), eighth (second alternate) , in their respective weight classes.

In the 8U Division, second-grader Dane Bova (60), earned first place; third-grader Hayden Hazi (55), first place; third-grader Fisher Reutzel (90), first place; third-grader Blake Wilson (90), third place; and third-grader Giuliano Maiure (60), seventh place (first alternate), in their respective weight classes.

In the 6U Division, first-grader Landon Meyers earned fifth place (first alternate) in the 46-pound weight class.

In addition, Mars Youth Wrestling earned first place in the Road Warrior Classic with the most accumulated points from division tournaments; and, was the first place team at the Road Warrior End-of-the-Year Tournament.

Several wrestlers also placed among the Top 25 youth wrestlers from throughout the region.

In the Novice category, second-grader Rex Watenpool, took first place; fifth-grader Adrian Heinemann, second place; second-grader Jack Miller, 10th place; fourth-grader Jack Raybuck, 10th place; third-grader Joel Rings, 10th place; third-grader Giuliano Maiure, 16th place; and, second-grader Jackson Swackhammer, 19th place.

In the Open category, second-grader Dane Bova, received fourth place; third-grader Fisher Reutzel, fifth place; fifth-grader Zane Argeras, ninth place; fifth-grader Grayson Joseph, 14th place; third-grader Hayden Hazi, 16th place; sixth-grader Ty Carson, 18th place; and sixth-grader Parker Joseph, 22nd place.
