Three Mars Area School District students were selected as finalists in the 2022-2023 Highmark Caring Place Children’s Grief Awareness Day Poster Contest.

Mars Area Elementary School fourth-grader Grace Carnicelli and Mars Area Primary Center first-grader Anthony Zimmerman and kindergartner Camden McMahon received a Certificate of Recognition and a $25 Amazon gift card for their winning entries, which will be featured on the Caring Place website and social media.

The contest asked students to design a poster on the theme, “Be Kind,” illustrating how even the smallest acts of kindness can help a person who is grieving.
