Kindergartners at Mars Area Primary Center received a first-hand look at the wonders of science as part of a in-school field trip, offered May 2-3.
Representatives of Outside the Box Labs led the students through a various science enrichment activities and hands-on experiences to help the students to bettter understand the wonders of science through exploration and learning. Kindergartners constructed paper airplanes as part of a lesson on flight, in which they also learned about the principle of flight and the four fundamental forces — lift, weight, drag, and thrust.
The students used prisms and different colored lasers to explore the properties of light and to discover optical illusions. And, kindergartens donned protective goggles to experiment with chemistry and matter through hands-on and visual demonstrations.
