Mars Area Primary Center collected $1,718.21 as part of a Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser, held Nov. 18-22.
Students in kindergarten and first grade were asked to bring in donations to support the school’s Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) program, which recognizes and rewards students for acts of kindness and other positive behavior.
The classes with the most donations, Heather Rhea’s first grade class ($201), Stephanie King’s PM kindergarten class ($90), and Matt Richard’s AM kindergarten class ($76), earned an opportunity to toss a pie in the face of a Primary Center teacher or staff member at an assembly on Nov. 27.
Those, who volunteered to have a pie tossed in their face, included principal Jessica Semler and teachers Megan Hey, Rebecca Lumpp, Matt Richards, Cami Shuck, Adrianne Vandevort, Tyler Yaskula and Shelley Zoelle.
